Salama Kassab, once a pharmacy student with a normal life, now volunteers at a hospital in war-torn Homs, Syria. Haunted by an imagined companion, Khawf, who embodies her fear, she’s desperate to flee before her sister-in-law Layla gives birth. Torn between loyalty to her country and survival, Salama faces the horrors of war while grappling with her shifting morality. When she meets a boy tied to her past, she questions leaving at all. Ultimately, Salama must recognize the conflict not as a war but as a revolution and decide how to fight for Syria’s freedom.
